the problem was not to change the baud rate. The problem was to check the cable quality.

Maybe you can write a sort of protocol, which starts from the lowest baud rate and increase until the communication fails. Then return to the lowest baud rate and tell all other stations to change the baud rate to half of the highest baud rate, where the comunication was still 100% error free (read out the error counters).
