A simple test would be to;

1)Pull out your external eprom/ram/decode etc;

2)Wire a "NOP" (00H) to Port 0 with EA tied Low.


The '51 will just generate linear addresses up to 0FFFFH and then rollover to zero. You can monitor A15 with your scope or probe.
