6 times is the way I remember it too. I think it will actually run a little less if you are using external access during the conversion time due to the missing ALE in the second cycle of a MOVX instruction. This shouldn't cause a problem because yo can either avoid MOVX during that time to speed up the clocking or you can accept a slightly slower clocking rate. I used this technique about 2 years ago on a design. I initialed a conversion and avoided MOVX while the ALE clocked the ADC. I ued the time to prepare registers and memory for the computations. I was running at 11.0592Mhz and it worked quite nicely. -Jay C. Box -Jay C. Box |
