C is portable, easy to debug every thing is true, but for we people who graduated in 80s when fortran was taught in colleges and don't know abc of C gets afraid of learning new thing rather than writing 40k+ code in assembly in couple of weeks. But the fact is that if we don't learn now, we will be thrown out of industry as we had done with elder ones who were not migrating from Z80/8080-85 in future course. Your guidance is very helpful in motivating and learning new things.
