Please don't be negative about the concept of the CRC.

I am, by no means, negative twds CRC, I use it extensively to validate data transmission (and request retransmit if it does not match)

If you store 2 or 3 copies and then use CRC to validate which copy is GOOD then you are in business

If you store 3 copies, you do not need CRC. The CRC can be right, even with a wrong data. There is a theoritical chnace of a record written halfways on top of a previous coming up with a correct CRC. This can not happen when you compare the whole record.
