Yes Dennis thats exactly right. I bought PC82 programmer for my workshop 5 or 6 yrs ago. The guys still use it for programming eproms and eeproms.

the software is called EX-PRO and it only works under DOS.
Unfortunately if you want to program microcontrollers with it you need to buy a special adapter which is sometimes more expensive than the PC82 itself.
If the company closed down or you couldn't find the software on the web I will ask one of the guys to email it to you if it is not illegal.
