#3221 - RE: Assembler versus C, 8051 versus AVR |
Peter!
I was working in the same way, but a few years ago. Then I've got PK51 version 5, and I can say that I've forgot all that DOS stuff. Now I can't imagine how to work in DOS when I have 10 to 20 source files opened at the same time. I'm using DOS window just for a GREP to help me handle that mass of sources. All that you can do in DOS, you can do in windows even better. Only the compilation is about 30% slower. But when clicking Update button, only changed sources are compiled and then all objects linked. You can set the batch file to run after the compilation (auto download to target hardware). DSCOPE debugger is a very powerfull one... Worth to try it. |
