Thanks Menno. Confirms my feeling.
Erik - it is 232 or 485 - I have both interfaces to the 8051 pin. It so happens I am using direct 232 from the PC com port (using FIFO Serial Analyser software to generate the strings). Its timing is perfect - precisely one bit time between last data bit end and next start bit start. Might be a Winbond thing.... Dave |
