I think that your limiting factor will be your computers BIOS..If you replace the onboard I/0 with a ISA/PCI card ,your bios may still not allow it to boot from the 1.44 even though the new I/0 card supports 1.44.
Does you current Bios have the option for 1.44 when you scroll through it options. |
