#34321 - RTS and CTS english explaination |
Hello, All
I must say that English is not my first and second language. It is third.. so sometimes it really confuse me. On TI data sheet, they wrote: A low on the RTS pins indicates the transmitter has data ready and waiting to send.. From my understanding about CTS and RTS are: two uarts, uart1 receives data, uart2 sends data. When uart1 receive FIFO has a free space, it will assert the RTS pin low, tell uart2: you can send the data to me now.(CTS and RTS are connected) so I think RTS doesn't mean transmitter has data ready and waiting to send. it means receiver has space and waiting to be sent. Correct my English understanding. Thanks. Frank |
