Hi Chris
You are correct with your post , but you are missing one of the main points of the atx spec. The power supply provides a 5v standby supply that is available before the PSU starts up. By tying the PS_ON line to ground you forfeit the ability to allow your product to turn itself on or off when it decides too. |
