Can you please explain me what do you mean by self discharge, you mean, it looses the power by itself?

Please also suggest me how much current would I be needing for a 89C2051 And a 16x2 LCD with backlit. Backlit will be ON only when ambient light is not enough and if someone presses the button. It will be ON for just 10 seconds after last key has been pressed.
