You still haven't answered the fundamental question of whether you're talking about real or model trains!

If you're talking about real railways, there will undoubtedly be safety, reliability, safety, environmental, safety, etc etc regulations to abide by.
So, again, before you rush out and buy something unproven and possibly unapproved, make sure that it will be allowed on the railway!

BTW: did I mention safety?
