I am using an atmel 89c52. The software is broken up into several modules.
The total data memory required is more than 128 bytes.

At the beginning of each module "$nomod" and "$mod52" directives are inserted.

Each module is assembled by intel mcs51 assmebler, and then they are all linked with RL51.

On linking I get an "Address Overflow" error from RL51.

On reducing the data memory usage to less than 28 bytes, this error disappeares.

Presumably the linker is not excepting the 256 byte ram space.

Can someone suggest a suitable linker ? Or am i goofing somewhere ???!!
