#35171 - RE: Raisonance C compiler - How good? |
Hi Bert (Dutch origins??),
I have been using the Raisonance toolset for about seven years now and have very good experience with it. Like Mahmood I have no direct comparison because I don't use Keil. About a month or two ago someone posted a link to an article about "optimal C constructs" for the 8051. The examples given were all compiled with Keil and gave wildly different results in terms of code size and execution speed (which was of course what the article was about). However, when I compiled these examples with my Raisonance compiler the results were much better. Most of them were faster and/or tighter which indicates that Raisonance's optimisation is pretty good. Since cost is a concern, the RKit51+XA Lite, which is limited to 32k codesize for the 8051, is an absolute bargain, even at the increased price of 499 Euro. Best regards, Rob. |
