Hi,

I guess many of you have seen my last post about howot control a servo. Well now I've experminted with it for almost 2 weeks now, I'm bored with the servo and I'm in search for a new project.

My problem is that the Uni is closed so I can't borrow any equipemnt from them and the stores are also closed so I can't buy any new toys.

Suddenly, while I'm watching TV on my computer and pick up the remote control which came with it, an idea pops into my mind! I could try to hook up the serial IR dongle which came with my TV card to my uC.

So I immediatly start searching for information on how this thing. Unfortunatly there isn't much documentation available about this device specificly or about serial IR dongles in general.

I have a Serial IR dongle which comes with a Pinnacle (aka Miro) PCTV Pro.

My question: Can anybody help me to some information on how serial IR dongles work in general or information on how this device works.
