You should look at eagle at www.cadsoft.de
Its demo version lets you use the schematic capture and the pcb layout/autorouter and stuff like that.Its written by people who actually use it so its slightly better than vutrax or whatever.
The full version is fairly cheap and you get a t-shirt as well,what more could you ask for?
