#35449 - Page Auto Refresh - F5
Hello Mr. Rob Markham,

You wrote: Forum Thing.
I keep this page up on a "always on connection" all day. Is there anyway to make it refresh automatically when a new post, or reply is posted..(IE5.5) I never saw Erik's post, it only appeared on my browser when I posted my reply..

There is a way to handle the problem.

The F5 on your keyboard will cause a refresh when depressed. The idea is to get something to depress the F5 key for you. There are two ways to accomplish this.

1. Rewire the keyboard F5 key with a timer chip such as the LM555. Make sure you put a switch on it to disable it when you are don't want an automatic refresh.

2. Make an embedded processor which is inline with you keyboard data. It can sent the F5 code automatically.

I did the 555 trick and it really works well.
I use it on WWW.EBAY.COM on items which are near to closing. Sometimes I want to make sure somebody hasn't out bid me.

Regards,

Charles Bannister
