Now there's a point Mahmood. Writing a program properly, in my opinion, includes identifying potential problems with regard to speed beforehand. I don't like to get taken by surprise by a piece of code that just doesn't cut the cheese.
If there are any, I tend to write the 'problematic bits' directly in assembly and do the rest in C. Usually this is much easier and quicker than optimising the code generated by the C compiler. Rob. |
