Felix, the same problem is in my country. We are using some special characters and there are more then 8. But I have found the solution: my application loads needed characters to the CG RAM before sending a string. Of course - every time it loads "unvisible" bytes and it works up to 8 special characters, but it is easy to do and usually we are using less than 8 special characters in the string which is 30..40 bytes long.
