Ever used Philips 8583 (and 8593, I think) real-time clock? It has the same address as the 24C** series!! Sod's Law - what were they thinking of? Was ok with the '04 and '08 but, when we upgraded to the '16, we needed to impliment 2 independant data lines - still used only one clock line though.
