#36140 - RE: How to sell what we all make |
. I have worked on a few projects which I think are interesting. I think everyone here thinks that
Oh, how much time has been wasted because of this. If you want to go ahead do not work on what you think people think. If you want to go ahead do not work on whether they find it interesting, find out if they will buy it at a price where you make a profit. Please note The below is not written to make you give up, it is written to make you understand what you are getting yourself into. Erik I have seen many "kids" (excuse my word for anyone under 30) with ideas they thought wonderful get badly burned. If you decide to go ahead, treat it the same way you would purchasing a stock. Evaluate risk (you will evaluate it too low) Evaluate potential (you will evaluate it too high). If your product is hugely succesful, Mega Multi Corporation will make a cheap copy and as you do not have $1 million for lawsuits, your patent is worthless. If your product is not succesful you have lost your time and money. The good thing about it is you will gain a lot of experience, just make sure you can afford it. Been there, done that Erik |
