The 486 instruction set will work with the pentium, so you can revert to that if you want . . .
You are going to pay a heavy overhead setting up communication with the ancilary chips, and so on, things that are already set up for you with a microcontroller. There are many advanced microcontrollers on the market; I would not give up on the concept of a microcontroller yet, if I were you. |
