I agree with this and point out that the processor is often only a component of a system such as a medical or laboratory instrument. In these cases I use 'sanity' tests in the software which check on the attached sensors. Things such as inputs hitting max/min etc., or not reporting when querried. The controller is one thing, the system is another. |
