Hi all,

I'm trying to program a P89C668 using flashmagic. My X-tal is 12MHz which I need to make a Baudrate of 31250B. (MIDI).
When I fill in 12MHz in Flashmagic and a Baudrate of 38400 Flashmagic doesn't connect to my controller. When I change the crystal to 11.0592 MHz and change this also in Flashmagic it works.
I understand that 38400B can't be made out of 12MHz but when Flashmagic and the microcontroller use the same crystal It should work, right? The baudrate isn't 38400 Baud then but both Flashmagic and the controller are 'clocked' at 12MHZ.

I couldn't find any answer here or on the web. I guess I have to use some sort of crystal switch to flash the software and test it.
