#37664 - RE: RTC using DCF-77 |
Hi,
I played with DCF77 for work a while ago, using the Conrad bits. Important! : keep the antenna at least 2 meters from your PC! However, the unit is *not* affected by local radio & TV transmitters (we have a whole field full 500 meters from our factory!). The software to decode the bits is not too difficult (even in QuickBasic!). I monitored reception over the weekend when summer time changed to winter time, & it went just like in the spec! These days, maybe GPS modules are cheap enough. Just add power, & time & position are sent out on the serial line (9600 Baud?). (I have a C example of the code for that somewhere). Regards, Richard.be PS. my wife has a DCF77 alarm clock - always accurate (the clock!) & fewer buttons to push! |
