Personaly I think that the buildin stuff is better. When Using Software or External interrupt you could have some problems. I've heard from some poeple that used software watch-dogs they sometimes get problems with software hangup's and the watchdog isn't function anymore. But with build in you just enable it, call it ones and a while and everyting is ok
