#3904 - Power Protection of 8052 |
We are evaluating extra power protection around our 8052 product.
We are considering the MAX1232 for (1) and (2) below: (1) What is the best power on reset chip you've found? (2) What is the best external watchdog chip that you've found (I saw Peter's posting on the Tps3824)? (3) What DC input circuits (we have a NatSemi DC-DC switcher) works well for filtering voltage surges and power dropouts. For example, we monitored his 36Vdc line and found voltage surges to 64Vdc for 10 microseconds and drop outs down to 4Vdc for 20 microseconds. We have a customer with really really bad DC power inputs to our module and we want to "buy some insurance" against problems. We take in 12 to 48Vdc and we've measured momentary voltage spikes of roughly 10us to |
