#39880 - RE: new C compiler Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I've tried it a little. The IDE
has a seperate program for editing C and H file and a seperate program for editing make files. I would prefer to see it all under one "project". The price doensn't seem to be bad. You can download it and try it for free with, I think, up to 2 K. It didn't bugger up my computer. I am still looking for a compiler to buy. I still haven't found anything nearly as good as CodeVision for the same price for 8051s. I have to say, the availability of a compiler that an average person can afford to register has affected my choices of also chips. Keil, IAR, and HiTech are way too expensive, and I don't feel right using cracked/illegal stuff. Maybe www.bipom.com so far looks the best, but I haven't seen how its code actually runs on a chip. It is built on top of the Dunsfield compiler, which has a pretty defunct DOS based IDE on its own. Bipoms's Price is 150 USD. (in actuality, 50 USD) Sorry, but I require a good IDE. I am not one of those "notepad" or hexedit programmers. But hats off to that type of programmer. William |
