#40061 - Why 100mA is consumed when i/p is high.
my circuit consists of 89c2051 using 4 input lines of port 1 each with 10kohm resister as pulldown , and 4 outing lines all driving relays which are driven by BC547 and SL100 as darlington pair each.My circuit is polling for any input going High (5Volts) and accordingly driving the corresponding relay 'on'.
My problem is that whenever any input is held high the circuit consumes an additioal 100mA current until there is no 'high input'(i.e. 5 Volts).
Please explain why ? And give me a wayout so that I can use battery backup. Please note that the relays use a separate 12Volts supply.
