#40271 - OT: about c compilers |
Just a question which somebody asked me today and I thought one of the compiler experts would know. Why don't you find or do you find even and I just havent seen any, compilers which do the hardware compiler trick of pattern matching in the code to find common fumctions and replace them with'function blocks'from the library. For example with hardware compilers you can write some code for a finite state machine and the compiler will spot it and replace it with a generic parameterisable state machine function block,or you can turn it off and say you don't want it to do that.So its a compiler which automatically inserts library functions without being told'this is a library function'. |
