The Philips PCF8583 (around Rs.68/= I think)is easily available here in India, it is cheaper than the DS1307, it also has 256 bytes of RAM,it is available in DIP and SMD version, you can get it from Elektronika Sales, Chennai or contact the Phiplips guys at Mumbai they are very helpfull.
