#41132 - RE: C++ serial communication with 80C32 Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hello Mr. Nico De Spiegelaere,
I built a 24 channel data logger which is interfaced to Microsoft Excel thru a Serial Port. After researching the Internet and finding most solution to be very expensive I came across a public domain program which made the job easy. This program is called InByte for Windows 98/NT/2K from Emerging Technologies, LLC. InByte is a free executable program that can be used to receive a byte of data on a serial port of a PC. This byte of data is displayed in decimal format and is made available via DDE to other applications. This program can be downloaded from this web site. http://www.emergingtech-llc.com/downloads.html You can get more information about the company at this web site. http://www.emergingtech-iic.com/ You can get more information about the data logger I built at this web site. http://members.aol.com/temperaturetoys/tei.html To see a sample Microsoft excel program you can do so at this site http://members.aol.com/temperatu...112502.xls. I would suggest not to try to reinvent the wheel for you data logger. If you look around you can get the solution nearly for free. Good luck. Regards, Charles Bannister |
