There are different types of internal WD timers. Some of them are actually independent, some share - for instance - the CPU oscillator as a clock reference, others are normal timers that can be configured to act as a watchdog. In most - if not all - cases they can't really compete with external devices, but on the other hand: it's allways better than nothing. |
