#41635 - PWM fine tuning - Michael Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Dear Michael,
Yes your post was interesting to read. I had in fact attempted a similiar algorithm for a metal fixture temperature control. The heating fluid was mineral oil heated by a 6KW heater in a small bath and then circulated with a small pump through the fixture. I had to achieve a fixed setting of 60 Deg C, so had used a LM35 sensor connected to an 8bit ADC. Same logic of Error as index to a LUT. But somehow I never could achieve a regulation better than +/- 5 Deg C on the set value. Tried all gimmicks with the LUT but with no luck. Finally resorted to a simple PID analog controller that brought the process within +/- 1 Deg C.!! I defenitley know that there is some flaw in my approach with the MCU - if only I knew what it was ..... So I just wanted to know your experience on the scheme and guidelines if any for the preparing the LUT. Raghu |
