Does it work for tables of any length?

Work for tables if n-bits wide? i.e. 8-bits, 16-bits?

What can be expected for execution time difference of the sum_of_products logic versus the lookup table normal indexing?

Can you tell me more about this "expresso" tool? I am not familiar with this.
