I believe that the "rules" state that you need at least 7mm between the AC & DC pins - not really the place for SMD!
Some optos for mains applications even have a footprint width of more than the usual 0.3". If you're trying to limit real estate, put the opto on a plug-in pcb perpendicular to the main board.
