They used to have DOS software if you prefer that sort of thing - it may still be available to download.
I think you're being a bit unfair to poor old windows - it's usually badly written applications that cause it to crash, and that problem has largely gone away with the 32 bit versions which run with proper memory space protection. I'd say windows is nearly as reliable as Unix was about 25 years ago. Progress! |
