Thanks for all your inputs to my earlier thread SDCC+WIN_XP.

At the end of the day there was much clarity on the whole issue, and some consolation that someone else also found the intial phase of getting SDCC do what you want, a little bit cryptic!

OK now I have married the SDCC to a share ware editor called MED ( http://www.med-editor.com/indexus.html ) and started using it. For the price that has been asked, it is really good stuff - neatly done interface and documentation. Many thanks to Saji for pointing to this link.
