1. When you press a switch in Port1, an LED in Port2 lights as long you press.
2. when you press a switch in Port1, an LED in Port2 comes on for 1 sec and goes off, even if you are holding the switch pressed. 3. 8 LEDs are connected to Port 2 via a buffer. And making a Port pin low, lights the LED. Onceyou have this then you can make the LEDS, - Run one by one D0 to D7 or D7 to D0 or Alternate. - All ON then All OFF - Random light up patterns 4. Once you reach this level then try a LCD connected in 4 bit mode / 8 bit mode / blinking ON / Cursor ON / Off .... 5. Try talking to Hyper terminal or the equivalent of that in DOS via the serial port. ( Enough ? Maybe enough for a start) If you want a simple assembler, try out the Pinnacle 52 available in the left of this page. It allows for 30 days free trial, then you buy it for a small amount. It is WIN based. Raghu - |
