All you need do is ensure that the "MOD" file for you project is in the same directory as the source file you are assembling

For instance if you are assembling for a std 8051 (indicated in your source file by $MOD51) then ensure the MOD51 file (in the Metalink dir) is copied to the directory your source resides within.

As an example your source file (called mysource.asm) and the appropriate MOD file is is c:sourcedir and Metalink is in a directory c:metalink.

Then change to c:sourcedir and invoke ASM51 as c:metalinkasm51 mysource.asm
