D'you know, I had two old cars lying in my driveway for years. One day I decided to get rid of them so I advertised them in the local paper as free to anyone who wanted them. To my amazement I received dozens of phone calls from people asking me whether they were in good condition, whether they has full service histories, MOT certificates, full tank of petrol, good tyres and so on. A guy turned up to take one of them away. Did he have a trailer? No. Did he have a tow rope? No. Did he have a toolkit? No. The only thing he'd brought with him to shift a 20 year old car that hadn't moved in years was a wire brush - to clean the battery terminals, apparently.

I think the people I dealt with while trying to get rid of those cars were very similar to the majority of the posters above. They want something good for free, but are somehow unable to go and get it for themselves even if it's freely available.
