I guess my question is: if you wanted to implement it on an 8051, could you use the built-in uart or would you need either an external chip or a bit banged solution? I undestand that it is somtimes run at a 19.2kbit rate, but does that make it serial uart compatible or are there other issues? The docs I've read on it so far are not clear about this.
