#45418 - RE: Tanenbaum book review Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The Tanenbaum book is a sleeper for sure, but it does contain long discussions of many types of networks and protocols. I think at least a quarter of the book is dedicated to the OSI model, and there is a lengthy discussion of the OSI protocol stack and SONET. I am not sure about the other two and my book is not next to me.
It gives good qualitative information about networking topics, but it doesn't include all the nuts and bolts, for example you won't be able to configure a router, but you will know the many ways that one can work. - Lee Amazon address: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obid...ce&s=books Sorry I am too lazy to make the HTML tag.. |
