For PWM nothing beats the PCA you will find in the Philips P89C51Rx2 and P89C66x series. In links <--- you will find a link to the Intel PCA cookbok that is excellent and, although it refer to ancient derivetives, all PCA features used in the cookbook are available in the above derivatives.
