If you haven't seen it already, Philips has a very informative application note that explains everything you want to know: http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/acrobat/a.../AN457.pdf Like someone mentioned earlier though, even the first line of the EPROM section supports that the limited on chip ROM problem is hardly applicable today.
