Parallel: Move 8 bits , send a strobe , wait for end of busy, Move 8 bits.....ad infinitum

Serial : Get 8 Bits, decide clock rate, tell that you are going to send data, send one-by-one, count 8, at end tell data is over, start with next data .... sigh...

Hence Parallel is easier than Serial. QED.
