#46957 - 40 Pin IAP Part recommendation.
I'm looking for an ISP 8051 compatible MCU.
40 Pin DIP packaging is a MUST.
Cost is of great importance.

In actuality, I need a MCU that can do In Application Programming - I need to be able to run code to update internal memory. I don't need to update the main code base from within the program (although it would be nice) - I need about 1-2K of data memory that is updated over the UART. A non-ISP micro with EEPROM would be good. Byte as opposed to page updates are a requirement.

16K program memory is a bare minimum assuming that additional ROM is available for data storage. 32k / 64k is much preferred. additionaly, extra SRAM is a big plus.

So far, I have found:

ATMEL T89C51RD2 64K ISP FLASH, 2K EEPROM, 1280bytes SRAM $9.30 (arrow)
Phillips P89C51RD2BN/01 64K ISP FLASH 1Kbytes SRAM $6.95 (arrow)

If anyone has any other suggestions on MCUs for < $10 each in single quantity, I'd love to hear them.
