Huy,
Have you considered using an Optical Mouse Camera, the resolution is very low (16x16 pixels) but it can track a moving object easily, all you have to do it re-focus the lens, and you can read the mouse using the serial mouse protocol... I'm working on exactly this myself, but using 2 cameras for an Optic-Flow kind of obstacle avoidance. Any more resolution on the cameras and you won't be able to process the images fast enough to track anything. 8052's really aren't made for this kind of thing. For other cameras have a look at Acroname they have build a robot mich chases a ball around their office. I think they use a CMU-CAM which you can still buy from certain places. it does all the processing for you, and will even control a servo.. Hope this helps. Chris |
