#4729 - Floating Point Mathematics: |
Hi all,
The 8051 doesn't do the floating point maths. in assembly how is it possible to make the micro do floating point, while yet actually not doing floating point. My idea is, say for diving 5 by 2 and to get 2.5, -multiply 5 by 10 and get 50. -divide 50 by 2 and get 25. -display 25 but "force" a dot between the two digits. I have not thought of the errors and implications, I leave them to the experts. Of course this way we can get only one decimal place, and for two multiply by 100 which will complicate 10 times........ Please comment. Babar/ |
